HAMLET— A teen already facing robbery and attempted murder charges is accused in another recent robbery.
According to the Hamlet Police Department, officers responded to a robbery call Friday, May 20 on High Street.
After interviewing several witnesses, investigators say the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Tyquan Lamar Gibson.
Investigators reportedly obtained a search warrant and were able to retrieve the stolen items, according to a Facebook post.
Gibson was arrested May 21 and charged with one felony count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm, in addition to a misdemeanor charge of assault by pointing a gun.
He was booked into the Richmond County Jail where is being held on a combined $260,000 secured bond.
Online court records show Gibson is facing six pending felony charges: attempted first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied property from 2020; and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and common law robbery from 2021.
Gibson is scheduled to appear in district court May 26 on the new charges and in superior court June 13 on the older charges.
Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Gibson has no previous convictions as an adult.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
