Ohio fugitive arrested in Richmond County

ROCKINGHAM — A woman wanted on obstruction charges in a 2017 Ohio homicide case was caught in Richmond County earlier this month.

According to court documents, 64-year-old Mary Stella Martin, who had an address listed on County Home Road, was recently indicted by a grand jury in Marion County, Ohio on two counts of complicity in the commission of an offense.

Martin is accused of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice for her alleged role in helping Jeremiah Martin in removing firearms that were known to have been used in a homicide in April 2017, records show.

The RO was unable to find out any more information about the case.

Martin was arrested March 15 and booked into the Richmond County Jail as a fugitive.

Her bond was revoked on March 23 and increased from $50,000 to $500,000, records show.

Martin’s next court date is scheduled for April 20.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
