Chamber, Discovery Place Put on Successful Networking Event in “Connections After Five”

ROCKINGHAM — Local business owners and community members met Thursday night at Discovery Place in the latest edition of “Connections After Five” at Discovery Place in downtown Rockingham in celebration of the importance of staying connected with others in county.

The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce held its monthly “Connections After Five” event on Thursday night at Discovery Place in downtown Rockingham. This is an event that gives business owners and community members a chance to come together, network and build a stronger community. By holding these events the Chamber of Commerce promotes local businesses and works to help the local economy.

“Shop local, buy local,” said Chuck Cobb, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce. “It is important to bring all the businesses you can together to network and build on the community.”

Chuck Cobb went on to say how amazed he was with how active our local Chamber is in the community. “I am very proud of what the Chamber is doing.”

The event was a major success, featuring food, drinks and many like-minded business owners coming together to network and grow. The strength and unity of the Richmond County business community was on full display Thursday night at Discovery Place.

“I think it’s awesome, I think it’s a great way for small and larger business owner to meet and find out what services are in the area,” said Carlotta Rivers, a newcomer to these chamber events.

Anthony Fuller, owner of Premier Auto Imports, said, “It provides a forum for business owners to get together and network. It provides a face to a name.”

The Chamber of Commerce team works tirelessly to help Richmond County grow. These “Connections After Five” meetings happen almost monthly alongside other networking opportuntiies like “Coffee Connections” and numerous other events.
