PINEHURST — Sandhills-area residents with substance use disorders, their caregivers and the community at large now has a one-stop resource for finding help. A new website at www.firsthealth.org/recoveryresources provides an extensive breadth and depth of resources for opioid outreach and response. 

A unfortunate trend has been developing in our region. For the second July in a row, Stanly County emergency rooms have seen the highest rate of opioid overdoses of all 100 North Carolina counties.
