HAMLET — Southern Christian touring group 2nd Chance Ministries will be making a stop in Hamlet on Thursday to perform at the “Car”certs at the Cole. This special evening of music and ministry will begin at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Cole Auditorium.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will offer two General Contractor CEU (continuing education units) classes on Oct. 30 or Nov. 20 on the Hamlet Campus at the Cole Auditorium. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College’s Board of Trustees was given an update at its monthly meeting Tuesday how the College is using funds from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund to make its short-term training classes more affordable for students.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will hold the 2020 Cybersecurity Summit on Oct. 13 from 2 until 5 p.m. in a virtual format. The keynote speaker for this event is Shawn Dulaney, founder and CEO of Dulaney Group Technologies, LLC. 

HAMLET — Whiskey Brown is ready to deliver a shot of soulful, hard-hitting, contagious Southern rock at Thursday’s ‘Car’certs at the Cole starting at 6 p.m.

HAMLET — Paying for college can be a burden. But it doesn’t have to be. There are numerous resources for financial assistance, but the first step in getting money to help pay for college is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as FAFSA.

HAMLET — The parking lot at the Cole Auditorium will be rocking and rolling on Friday night with local rock band The Ponder Project, which will hit the stage at 6 p.m. The second show of the “Car”certs at the Cole series, this eclectic group delivers a variety of songs that span from the 1970s until more recent hits. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College recognized the seven cadets who graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Training program during a ceremony Sept. 21 at the Cole Auditorium.

HAMLET — Stephen McQueen had been looking forward to the start of this school year for a long time. He was going to be an elementary school teacher with his very own classroom where he would meet parents and welcome wide-eyed students to a new grade level.

However, COVID-19 changed all that.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will once again be honoring veterans this fall with an Our Heroes’ Tree display. Although the College will not be able to have a service this year, RichmondCC wants to make this special event available for community members to reflect, rejoice and remember those who have and are currently serving in the military.
