He was born July 7, 1944 in Hoffman, North Carolina to the late James and Lillie Bell (Blyther) Nicholson. He was the oldest of eleven siblings, one of whom (Dennis C. Nicholson) preceded him in death.

Bobby accepted Christ and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He had a quiet, calming nature and was the family’s peacekeeper. We loved and will surely miss him!

Bobby attended Beaver Dam Elementary School, Hoffman, North Carolina and Mineral Springs High School, Ellerbe, North Carolina. He earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and he was a great chef.

Later in life, Bobby was employed with the firm, Myers Investigative and Security Services. A proud man, Bobby thoroughly enjoyed his employment in Law Enforcement and was the recipient of numerous awards and letters of commendation for his superior work in the Security and Investigative Services Industry. Receiving the Official Certificate of Merit from former Richmond County Sheriff Dale B. Furr on November 21, 2006, was a highlight of his law enforcement career.

Bobby was known for his love of music, especially playing the guitar which was “almost” as good as BB King. He loved listening to Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin. He always showed love for his family.
