ROCKINGHAM – Leath Memorial Library at 412 East Franklin Street in Rockingham will celebrate its Summer Reading Kickoff on Saturday, June 16 from 10 AM -2 PM. The theme for the program this summer is LIBRARIES ROCK! This will be a free event open to the public featuring lots of fun and games for those who attend.

A video game truck will be on site, as well as two bounce houses-one wet and one dry. The Safety Committee Band, well-known in the area for its classic rock-and-roll music, will be entertaining the crowd throughout the day. Local vendors will be there offering food, drinks, and snacks for sale. The popular movie “The Black Panther” will be playing inside the library for those looking to escape the heat.

If you wish to participate in the Summer Reading Program, you need to visit www.srls.info to register and log in your minutes. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the summer program to those logging in the most minutes in different age categories.
