LANCASTER, Pa. – Richmond Senior High School’s top wrestler during the 2017-18 season was sophomore Joey Nicholson. And while the Raiders’ season has been over for a couple of months, Nicholson found himself back on the podium this past weekend.
RICHMOND COUNTY – In this week’s middle school sports report, several local teams improved with wins in their respective sports.
ROCKINGHAM – Preston Coker, a junior on the Richmond Senior High School track and field team, has been named the Official Richmond County Male Athlete of the Week presented by McNair Auto Sales.
ROCKINGHAM – It wasn’t the most high-powered offensive performance for the Lady Raiders softball team this season, but Tuesday’s 17-0 five-inning mercy-rule victory over Sandhills Athletic Conference opponent Seventy-First High School did have two momentous occasions.
ROCKINGHAM - Richmond pitchers Trey Watkins, Cam Carraway and Justin Ingram combined for the team's third no-hitter in Sandhills Athletic Conference play this season, but that was overshadowed in a good way by the Raiders' offense Tuesday night.
