ROCKINGHAM — A reward is being offered in one of three weekend shootings that sent four people to a hospital.

According to the Rockingham Police Department, a woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds from an incident on Cauthen Drive around 12:26 am. Sept. 27. She was reportedly taken to a hospital by car.

Around 3:22 a.m., RPD investigators say two juveniles were injured in a shooting on Hunter Circle — about a half a mile from the police station. Investigators say those two victims were taken to local hospitals by EMS and one was flown out.

All three victims received non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Investigators do not believe those two shootings are connected.

RPD announced Tuesday that a $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in connection to the Hunter Circle shooting. The reward is a partnership between the department, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and Richmond County Crime Stoppers.

“Even the smallest piece of information could make a difference,” reads a Facebook post about the reward.

In between Rockingham’s two cases, the RCSO responded to calls of a man being shot on Nannie Lane, west of Rockingham. According to the sheriff’s office, calls started coming into the Emergency Communications Center around 2:38 a.m.

RCSO investigators say the adult male victim was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a shootout. He was reportedly sent to the hospital “with non-life-threatening but serious injuries as a result of being shot.”

Multiple vehicles were also damaged during the exchange of gunfire, according to investigators.

Prior to that, around midnight, deputies reportedly responded to a call of shots fired on Collins Church Road in the Ashley Chapel community off Mizpah Road. There were no reported injuries, but investigators say there was property damage.

As of Tuesday afternoon, all cases were still under investigation and no arrests had been made.
