ROCKINGHAM — After 15 months of discussing ideas, analyzing options, and pursuing solutions to multiple issues, your Richmond Senior High School Class of 1976 50th Reunion Planning Committee has established a schedule of events prior to the Saturday Oct. 10 reunion itself.
1. Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.: Decoration of our Class of ‘76 RSHS Homecoming Parade “Truck & Trailer Float";
2. Thursday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.: Continuation of float preparation if necessary;
3. Friday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.: Staging of lineup of entries for the 4:00 p.m. Homecoming Parade on Washington Street. We can accommodate a limited number of “riders” but ‘76er MARCHERS are welcome so find us if you wish to be IN the parade;
4. Friday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m.: Gathering at Hudson Brothers Deli (115 S. Lee St.) after parade for carpooling to Homecoming game (7:30 kickoff) and coordinating the traditional halftime “March Around the Track” (under our Class of ‘76 Banner). We will meet at the field house in accordance with the school’s protocol;
5. Thursday, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m.: Gathering at Hudson Brothers to begin decoration procedures for upstairs level. Please bring any RSHS items you would like to place in our memento room for the duration of the Reunion night;
6. Friday, Oct. 9, 7–11 p.m.: Gathering at 116 Brooke Lee Drive, Rockingham (off U.S. 74 Business between Rockingham and Hamlet) for a tailgating party. NOTE: Bring chairs and your own refreshments for the evening’s outdoor festivities;
8. Saturday, Oct. 10, 6–10 p.m.: Hudson Brothers for our RSHS Class of 1976 50th Reunion. NOTE: Cost is $45 per person or $75per couple at the door, so please purchase cheaper tickets ($35/$60) prior to Sept. 25 by mailing a check to Carla Liles at P.O. Box 1013, Hamlet, NC, 28345. Checks should be made payable to Carla Liles (for Class of ‘76 Reunion).
