Drivers earn class wins in SEGA's Rock Revival

Posted

ROCKINGHAM — The Southeast Gassers Association barely beat the rain Saturday night with the finals of the Rock Revival at Rockingham Dragway.

Driver Jerry Dean, in the Last Rebel II, barreled down the track to snag back-to-back wins in the Super Stock class.

Dean, of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama,  won the previous night in the continuation of the RAM Clutches Nationals, which had been postponed from a  late-June race at Knoxville Dragway.

Another winner from Friday night, Ted McKee in the Rocky Top Missile, cruised to victory lane in the B/Gas class.

Kenneth Phillips was behind the wheel of Silver Streak II and went on to win in A/Gas, and Jerren Perdue took the top spot in C/Gas.

A downpour following the finals prevented winner’s circle photos.

SEGA was founded on bringing back the nostalgia of ‘60s-era drag racing, from the cars to the back-up girls.

The next track on SEGA’s schedule is Farmington Dragway in Advance.

The Rock still has quite a few races left on its 2026 schedule starting with Ross Drag Warz Aug. 7-8, which was postponed from February.

Other events this month include; Night of Fire Aug. 14-15; XDA’s Bike Bash Aug. 21-23; and The Hustle Frontside No Prep Aug. 29.

The NHRA will also be holding its first-ever points race at Rockingham Sept. 25-27, preceded by NitroFest in downtown Rockingham on Sept. 24.
