ROCKINGHAM — Raider Band Fans, the booster club for the Richmond Senior High School Marching Band, is hosting a raffle next month, with two cash prizes and a mower on the table.
Top prize for the raffle is a Husqvarna MZ54 54-inch zero-turn mower, donated by Big K LP Gas in Rockingham.
The mower features a top speed of 8.5 mph and cutting height adjustable from 1.5 to 4.5 inches across 13 steps, according to a poster advertising the raffle.
The second-place winner in the raffle will receive $500 and $300 will go to the third-pace winner.
Tickets are $50 each and the drawing is scheduled for Oct. 23. Entrants do not have to be present to win.
Proceeds will go toward new uniforms and to help the band with the cost of travel.
Other fundraising efforts have included professional wrestling events by Wrestling with Purpose, as well as band members selling concessions at home varsity football games and volleyball games.
Riverside Bakery and Coffee Shop in Hamlet is also hosting a 50/50 raffle during the cruise-in on Sept. 19, with proceeds going toward the band.
For more information on the raffle, contact Gus Bellamy at 910-417-1804 or Jamie Brooks at 910-995-4920.
All former marching band members are invited to come out to play with the band on Oct. 16 for Alumni Night.
