The I Can Scholarship Foundation Inc. recently hosted a Vision Board Workshop for middle school scholars at Ashley Chapel Educational Center, giving students an opportunity to reflect on their goals and visualize their futures.
The workshop was led by Executive Director Jay Everette and focused on helping students think intentionally about their aspirations. Using magazines, images and affirmations, students created personal vision boards representing their academic, career and personal goals.
Centered around the message “See it. Believe it. Become it,” the workshop encouraged students to dream big while recognizing the steps needed to achieve success. Students participated in discussions about their goals and shared their vision boards with their peers.
Prizes were also awarded to celebrate participation and creativity, creating an engaging and motivating environment for the scholars involved.
“Workshops like this help students begin to see themselves beyond their current circumstances,” said Everette. “When young people can visualize their goals, they start believing those goals are possible.”
The foundation expressed appreciation to community partners who helped make the event possible, including Enviva, Hamlet Review Lodge No. 105, and several private donors. The foundation continues its work to support youth development and educational opportunity within the community.
