ROCKINGHAM — A Scotland County woman, with pending charges in multiple counties is accused of stealing in Richmond County.
Warrants allege that 34-year-old Kanisha Rachelle McBride, of Laurinburg, stole the following items from the Rockingham Lowe’s Home Improvement store on June 13, 2025: Camp Chef peanut and soybean oil blend; a pressure washer hose; a Craftsman leafblower; and a Kobalt chainsaw.
McBride allegedly returned to Lowe’s on June 20, 2025 to steal a propane grill and two leafblowers.
Warrants were issued for McBride’s arrest on July 22, 2025 and she was served on March 27 — the day before records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show she was released from prison on a five-month post-release revocation. She is charged with two counts each of felony habitual larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
Online court records show McBride was served with outstanding orders for arrest from several other counties regarding the following charges:
Chatham County - felony conspiracy, misdemeanor larceny (2024), OFA issued June 30, 2025, bond forfeiture notice issued July 2, 2025, case dismissed with leave Jan. 8
Wake County - felony larceny, habitual larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit felony larceny (2024), OFA issued June 27, 2025; felony larceny, habitual larceny (2023), OFA issued June 27, 2025, bond forfeiture notice issued July 17, 2025
McBride also has pending charges of habitual larceny, possession of stolen goods or property and second-degree trespassing from Moore County. Jail records also show a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon and a probation violation in Scotland County.
She is being held on a combined $257,000 secured bond.
The alleged incidents at the Rockingham Lowe’s occurred within three weeks of her release from prison after serving nearly three months for a felony larceny (conspiracy) conviction in Lee County. Records show she was convicted March 14. 2025 and released June 3, 2025.
She went back to prison Oct. 30, 2025 on a post-release revocation and was released March 28.

2013 - obtaining property by false pretenses (Cumberland)
2014 - (attempted) felony larceny (Richmond)
2016 - giving fictitious information to a law enforcement officer (Hoke)
2017 - possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, having an open container of alcohol after consuming, driving while license revoked, failing to secure a passenger under 16, possessing stolen goods, two counts of first-degree trespassing (Scotland); felony larceny (Anson); being a habitual felon, habitual larceny, possession of stolen goods, (attempted) felony larceny (Cumberland)
2018 - two counts of habitual larceny, misdemeanor conspiracy, two counts of first-degree trespassing (Hoke)
2024 - (attempted) organized retail theft (Cumberland)
