HAMLET — A man is being held without bond after allegedly shooting into an occupied truck.
A magistrate’s order, issued to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, alleges that 63-year-old Jack Martin Robinson, fired shots from a repeating rifle into a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck on Sept. 4.
A male and female were reportedly inside the truck.
The incident reportedly happened on Glory Road, south of Hamlet — the same road as Robinson’s listed address.
The caliber of the rifle is not indicated in the order.
Robinson was arrested and charged with a single count of discharging a firearm into an occupied property. He is being held without bond in the Richmond County Jail.
Because it is a violent crime, the release order indicates that Robinson’s bond will be set by a district court judge.
He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17.
Robinson appears to have no pending charges or prior criminal convictions.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
