OBITUARY: Katrina Fletcher Thompson

Katrina Fletcher Thompson, age 44, of Rockingham, died at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

She was born in Rockingham in 1981 to Bobby Fletcher and the late Babs Bankhead Fletcher.

Katrina attended both Richmond Senior High and North Moore High School before graduating from Methodist University. Later in life, she graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Special Education.

She had a love for music and enjoyed attending Richmond Raider football games with her husband. She loved everything Christmas. She also cherished trips to the beach, where she found peace and happiness.

Above all else, she loved her children and took great joy in everything they did. Whether celebrating their accomplishments or simply spending time together, her family was the center of her life. She was a wonderful mother whose love, encouragement, and unwavering support will always be remembered.

Known as a true people person, she never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. Her warm smile, caring heart, and friendly spirit touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

In addition to her mother, Katrina was preceded in death by grandparents Jack and Shirley Bankhead and Thomas and Lula Mae Fletcher.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brian Thompson; sons, Aiden Liston of Fort Drum, New York, and Maddox Thompson of the home; stepson Eli Thompson; father and stepmother, Bobby and Toni Fletcher of Seven Lakes; sisters, Faith (Jarrod) Gouty and Krystal (Austin) Cotton; stepbrother, Marc (Allison) Harding; and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 3-4 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, 214 McDonald Ave., Hamlet, with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m.
