Timothy Gordon Bittle, 59, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026 at FirstHealth Hospice House in West End.
Tim was born Dec. 18, 1966 in Richmond County, a son of the late Thomas Edward and Mary Callahan Bittle.
At a young age he started working with Discount City Furniture in Rockingham with the McKenzie family who became family to him. Later he worked with Bowles Furniture Company, eventually becoming the owner. He also owned of Discount Bait and Tackle and Ellerbe Bait and Tackle. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, cooking a good country meal and feeding others, making people laugh with a good joke and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Denise Gregory and Bruce Bittle; and a nephew, Jerry Bittle.
Surviving are his siblings, Thomas Edward Bittle Jr. (Judy), Donnie Bittle (Brenda), Sandra Bankston (Roger), Hilda Carroll (Jason) and Lisa Bittle. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026 at Sweet Haven Church with the Rev. Kane McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
