ROCKINGHAM — A Richmond County woman wanted in Anson County reportedly led law enforcement on a chase over the weekend, including across the property of Rockingham Speedway.

Ashanti Moneak Dumas, 23, is accused of conspiring with two unknown males to rob someone in Hamlet on April 11. They allegedly tried to take “unknown items” from the reported victim’s pants pockets.

On April 15, Dumas and two unknown males allegedly conspired to burglarize a home in Anson County. The victim was reportedly injured and the two unknown males were reportedly left behind at the scene.

Arrest warrants related to both incidents were issued on April 15.

Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reportedly tried to stop Dumas on Saturday, April 18 but she allegedly failed to stop.

A video posted to social media over the weekend shows a car being chased by law enforcement across Little Rock, the half-mile track behind the main oval at Rockingham Speedway.

The RCSO confirmed that the video depicted part of the chase with Dumas.

Investigators say Dumas left the track and turned left onto N.C. 177 and then right onto U.S. 1, allegedly reaching speeds of 115 mph. The chase reportedly ended near Bostick Towing in Hoffman.

During the chase, according to warrants, Dumas drove her 2015 Ford Taurus into and damaged a deputy’s 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle,  and damaged a cable fence wire at the speedway, as well as a resident’s mailbox.

Dumas was taken into custody and charged with the following crimes and traffic infractions:

Dumas is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a combined $100,000 secured bond for the chase-related charges, and without bond on the charges from Hamlet and Anson County.

She is scheduled to appear in Anson County District Court on April 27, and Richmond County District Court on May 7.

Online court records show Dumas also has pending traffic citations in Anson County from March.

Dumas was previously charged in 2019 with assault and battery, but those charges were dismissed, records show.
