On Monday, March 2, 2026 Richmond County Department of Social Services Child Protective Services social workers Faith Covington, Rhonda Cox, Moenasha Littlejohn and Supervisor Amanda Ludlum participated in Read Across America Week.
They celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday by reading to students at Monroe Avenue, Washington Street and West Rockingham elemenatry schools.
March is National Social Worker Month, a time to honor the essential contributions of social workers in strengthening individuals, families and communities.
This year DSS Social Workers from CPS, Adult Protective Services and Quality Assurance joined together to do projects in our community. This year’s theme for National Social Worker Month is “Uplift, Defend and Transform.”
DSS Social Workers wanted to use March to give back to the community in a different way. They will have other projects going on throughout the month of March.
