ROCKINGHAM — A man is being held without bond in the Richmond County Jail after allegedly stealing food and having meth.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, 28-year-old Kever Shonone Rowell, of the Roberdell area, stole two cans of food and “multiple” Slim Jims from a Dollar General store on April 7.
Rowell was also reportedly found with an unspecified quantity of meth.
He was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of shoplifting.
According to the release order, Rowell was denied bond because of already being out on bail after being charged with possession of stolen goods —for allegedly having someone else’s registration plate — on March 27.
He is also prohibited from being on the property of Dollar General and Circle K.
Rowell is scheduled to appear in court April 12.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Rowell has the following prior convictions:
2022: possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, breaking and entering vehicles
2024: misdemeanor larceny, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
