ROCKINGHAM — A woman was served with an outstanding warrant Wednesday after reportedly being pulled for reckless driving.
Court records show 38-year-old Jessica Marie Kesler, of Rockingham, was stopped by a trooper with the N.C. State Highway Patrol on Aug. 26 for allegedly driving on County Home Road “without due caution and circumspection and at a speed or in a manner as so to endanger persons and property.”
The trooper also suspected Kesler of driving under the influence of “an impairing substance.”
Kesler was charged with driving while impaired and cited for reckless driving to endanger and failure to maintain lane control.
She was also served with a warrant, issued July 21 to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, charging her with misdemeanor financial card fraud and felony obtaining property by false pretenses.
Investigators allege that Kesler used another woman’s debit card “to send money to herself on Paypal.”
Kesler was booked into the Richmond County Jail where she is being held on a combined $3,100 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10 on the fraud charges and Sept. 14 on the DWI charge and other traffic infractions.
Online court records show Kesler has pending charges of financial card theft and obtaining property by false pretenses from March. She was released on an unsecured bond in that case.
Kesler appears to have no prior criminal convictions in the state.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
