ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing multiple charges after threatening to kill a woman and her child, and firing shots at a local restaurant.

Raquon Lamont Williams, 30, is accused of showing up at the Waffle House in Rockingham on Aug. 9 and pointing a gun in the face of the reported victim, threatening to kill her and her child.

Williams allegedly fired three shots from a 9mm while in the Waffle House parking lot.

Warrants allege that Williams continued to threaten the reported victim while following her home and chasing her around town.

One warrant was sworn out by the reported victim that day, charging Williams with two counts of communicating threats and one count each of assault by pointing a gun and stalking.

The following day, Aug. 10, a warrant was issued to the Rockingham Police Department charging Williams with discharging a firearm in city limits, assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats.

All charges are misdemeanors.

Williams was arrested Sept. 2 on both warrants and had his first appearance in court.

He is being held without bond in the Richmond County Jail. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 14.

Online court records show Williams was convicted of driving while impaired in 2017 and resisting a public officer in 2020.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
