ROCKINGHAM — A man wanted for two months after allegedly pawning a relative’s property was reportedly caught with fentanyl.
An arrest warrant alleges that 36-year-old Richard Scott Mohn, of Rockingham, pawned his grandmother’s generator for $250 on April 29.
The Hamlet Police Department obtained a warrant for Mohn’s arrest the same day, charging him with a felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses.
On June 30, an officer with the Rockingham Police Department allegedly found Mohn with an unspecified quantity of fentanyl and a plastic straw. He was then charged with a felony count of possession of fentanyl and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Records show Mohn was booked into the Richmond County Jail on a combined $2,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court July 9 in both cases.
Mohn appears to have no other pending charges or prior convictions in North Carolina.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
