ROCKINGHAM — Two men are facing drug charges after a search of an outdoor building on South Grove Avenue.
According to the Rockingham Police Department, an ongoing investigation led the Narcotics Division to execute a search warrant Sept. 25 at 212 South Grove. Ave in Rockingham.
During the search, investigators reportedly found and seized: 16 grams of crack cocaine; six fentanyl pills; five dosage units of Xanax; and less than half an ounce of marijuana.
Police also reportedly found evidence of the manufacturing of crack cocaine, including: scales with white residue; a glass mason jar with burn marks; and blue plastic bags.
A copy of the search warrant was not available in online court records on Sept. 28.
The Narcotics Division was assisted in the search by the RPD Tactical Response Unit, RPD Criminal Investigation Division, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team and N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement.
Investigators charged 33-year-old Diamante Dijon Wood with: manufacturing cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver fentanyl; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; possession of up to a half-ounce of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wood is also charged with exposing a child to a controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse fro allegedly having a child under the age of 16 “reside in wooden outdoor building with narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia, and firearms within distance for the child to access…” Those firearms, according to the warrant, were a Ruger .380-caliber handgun and an ESC .22-caliber rifle.
Wood was booked into the Richmond County Jail on a $250,000 secured bond.
(NOTE: As of the time of writing, Wood did not appear in online jail records. However, court records did not indicate that bond had been posted.)
Police also issued a criminal summons to 77-year-old Albert Lorenzo McDonald, charging him with a felony count of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 15.
Online court records show Wood has the following pending charges from 2025: three counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine; maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance (refiled from a felony to a misdemeanor); altering a removing a gun serial number; possessing, selling or buying a gun with an altered serial number; possession of drug paraphernalia; and a misdemeanor probation violation.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Wood was convicted in March of maintaining any place for a controlled substance.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
