ROCKINGHAM — A Richmond County woman was recently arrested on charges from Wake County.

An arrest warrant issued to the Apex Police Department alleges that 61-year-old Diana Denise Willard, with an address listed on Smith Street in Rockingham, stole a woman’s purse on Oct. 11.

Inside the purse was $500 in currency, the owner’s driver license, anxiety medication and two credit cards, according to the warrant.

The warrant, issued Oct. 27, charges Willard with two felony counts of financial card theft and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

She was arrested Oct. 29 at an address on Pence Street, according to court records, which also note: “Says she is homeless picked up here.”

Willard is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in a Wake County court on Nov. 10.

She appears to have no other pending charges or prior criminal convictions in the state.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
