ROCKINGHAM — A local homeless man is facing a pair of charges after allegedly urinating in public.

An arrest warrant alleges that 43-year-old Stephen Andrew Dailey exposed himself in front of a woman and urinated on the wall of the Food Lion grocery store on U.S. 74 Business in Rockingham on June 17.

Dailey was arrested the same day and charged with indecent exposure, as well as disorderly conduct under the city’s code of ordinances.

He is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 15.

Some court records show the defendant’s first name spelled as “Steven.”

Although there are no records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction, online court records show Dailey has several prior convictions of second-degree trespassing over the past several years, most recently in March.

Dailey also has prior convictions of misdemeanor larceny and injury to personal property.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
