ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to steal metal that resulted in injury of someone else.
According to an arrest warrant, 42-year-old Allen J. Sabaro caused more than $10,000 in damage May 9-10 to property owned by AT&T.
That act allegedly resulted in injuries to Corey Shane Dorsey, including traumatic brain injury and fractures to his spine and ribs.
The warrant was issued May 13 and Sabaro was booked into the Richmond County Jail just after midnight May 14, charged with one felony count each of injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals greater than or equal to $10,000 and injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals with subsequent injury.
Sabaro is being held on a $100,000 secured bond and had his first appearance May 14. His next court date is scheduled for May 28.
(NOTE: Prior court records and jail records show the defendant’s name spelled as “Allan J. Subero.”)
The defendant appears to have no prior criminal convictions in North Carolina.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
