ROCKINGHAM — A woman on probation from a 2024 conviction on multiple counts of identity theft in Union County is now facing similar charges in Richmond County.

According to an arrest warrant, 42-year-old Kristina Michelle Long used another woman’s driver’s license on Feb. 13 to obtain a residence on Bear Branch Road, north of Rockingham.

The warrant was issued to an investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 1 and Long was arrested on Oct. 16.

Long is charged with one felony count each of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretenses. She was booked into the Richmond County Jail where she is being held without bond, and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 30.

Online court records show Long has four pending probation violations, as well as two counts of driving while license revoked and one count of failure to return rental equipment in Moore County.

Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Long was convicted in December 2024 of the following charges in Union County: seven counts of identity fraud or theft; five counts of obtaining property by false pretenses; and one count of aiding or assisting with a fraudulent tax return.

Long also has several other prior convictions:

2005 - possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia

2011 - shoplifting, misdemeanor larceny

2012 - misdemeanor larceny

2017 - deliver or sell a Schedule III controlled substance, school attendance law violation

2019 - two counts of accessing computers to defraud

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
