Eleanor Webb Page, 94, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Her life was a reflection of generosity and joy, defined by her fierce devotion to her family and her infectious love for a good celebration.
Born in Rockingham, North Carolina, on Dec. 5, 1931, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Peter Martin Webb and Virginia Nichols Webb.
She spent her formative years in Rockingham before attending Greensboro College, where she earned a degree in Education. Guided by natural warmth and patience, Eleanor spent her career shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in Charlotte, Durham and Laurinburg.
Eventually, Eleanor returned to her hometown of Rockingham, where she settled, married, and found her greatest joy in being a mother and a grandmother. She simply loved children. Her home became a welcoming after-school haven for her children, grandchildren and their friends, all of whom she loved as her own. Affectionately known as “Ner,” she celebrated every accomplishment, big or small, with genuine pride and joy.
Eleanor shared her creativity with those around her, bringing people together for everything from building and decorating intricate gingerbread villages during the holidays to beautifully painted birdhouses. Ever the entertainer, no one enjoyed a party more than Eleanor. She brought a vibrant energy into every room she entered, whether she was hosting lively July 4th celebrations at Lake Tillery, playing in her bridge club, or organizing bridal showers and church functions. Eleanor had a unique way of making everyone feel welcomed, appreciated, and worthy of her attention.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Thomas Page Jr.; and her cherished son, John Martin Page.
Her legacy of love lives on through her family. She is survived by her daughter, Ginny Page of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her daughter-in-law, Tracey Altman Page of Rockingham; her grandchildren, Jordan Page Fortune and husband Aaron, Cameron Page and wife Taylor of Rockingham, and Ryan Page and wife Skylar of Sanford; her great-grandchildren, Gracie and Brynn Fortune, and Jackson and Avery Page; and her niece, Debra Page Reynolds and husband, John of Norwood.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at First Methodist Church of Rockingham at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
