Linda Duffy Bayless, 79, of Hamlet passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 at PruittHealth of Rockingham.
She was born July 26, 1947 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Roy and Louise Maske Duffy.
Linda was a retired registered nurse working locally at Richmond Memorial Hospital, Sandhills Regional Medical Center and several other places as her husband, Bill, moved around with N.C. Highway Patrol. She was very active member of Fellowship Methodist Church. She served her community in various ways, a member of Hamlet Lions Club and Seaboard Festival Committee for many years.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, William Bayless, III.
A Celebration of her life will be Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Willard officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Surviving, her husband of 43 years, William E. “Bill” Bayless of Hamlet; stepson, Dale Bayless and wife Elaine of Raleigh; grandchildren, Tori Bayless of Raleigh and stephen Bayless of Hamlet.
