Playaz Elite ride raises nearly $2,400 for teen's medical expenses

ROCKINGHAM — A local motorcycle club raised more than $2,000 Saturday to help pay expenses for a teenager diagnosed with a tumor.

Playaz Elite M.C. hosted a benefit ride on Saturday, Jan. 17 for 15-year-old Addie Moore.

According to Addie’s mother, Krista Jordan, Addie had been complaining of pain and they went back and forth to doctors to figure out what was going on.

“Finally we got answers,” Jordan said. “She had to have surgery because she had a tumor on her spine.”

When the tumor was removed, Jordan said “it was a different color than what they expected.”

The tumor was sent off for testing and the results came back — it was cancerous.

Following those results, Addie began radiation and chemotherapy. After a few weeks, Jordan said Addie started hurting again.

More tests were run and doctors found another tumor, which had to be removed from the front.

“With everything going on, with having chemo and constantly staying in the hospital, it’s been really hard on her and us in the family,” Jordan said, fighting back tears. “We appreciate y’all doing this so much for us. It’s going to be a long road with recovery.”

Club President Brad “Light Skin” Quick noted the pain in Jordan’s voice.

“They say it takes a village and that’s why we’re all here, we’re here to help this family out,” he said.

The convoy left Double Vision in Rockingham and drove through Morven and Cheraw, South Carolina before returning.

According to Robyn “Fireball” Berry, the ride raised $2,342.
