ROCKINGHAM — More than 1,000 Duke Energy customers are currently without power in Richmond County.
According to the energy provider, there are six outages in the Rockingham area, resulting in 1,349 of the company’s 15,000 customers in the county having no electricity.
An outage map shows the affected area from Scalybark Drive in the south, with one side running north, east of Long Drive up to Green Lake Road; and the other angling northwest to Greene Street in Rockingham, then northeast to Lee Thee Church Road.
There is currently no explanation for the outage.
The estimated time of restoration is 8:30 p.m.
Duke Energy still has more than 530,000 customers in the Carolinas without power, mostly related to Hurricane Helene.
It appears Pee Dee Electric had several outages earlier in the day, but there were none at the time of this writing.
