“CLASSROOM CREDITS” WITH JADA SCOTT
With finals week underway at Richmond, Scott is wrapping up the first half of her senior year. A dedicated student-athlete, she said the priority always starts with her success in the classroom.
When spring comes around, Scott will graduate high school with her diploma and an associate’s degree. Thanks to RIchmond’s dual enrollment partnership with Richmond Community College, Scott will enter college as a junior.
Three of her four classes this semester are at RichmondCC — Biology 110, Economics 251 and Sociology 213. Her only class at Richmond has been Economics and Personal Finance Honors, a graduation requirement for all seniors.
With high marks in her three RichmondCC courses, Scott made the distinguished honor roll at Richmond by making As during both marking periods in Economics and Personal Finance.
Continuing to work toward her associate’s degree, Scott will take four RichmondCC courses in the spring, along with another required class at Richmond. Her RichmondCC classes will be Math 152, Psychology 241 and Psychology 281, as well as another class to be decided. Scott’s lone class at the high school will be English IV Honors.
As the semester draws to a close, Scott currently has a 4.556 weighted grade point average and is ranked seventh out of 406 students in the graduating class of 2026.
Around campus, Scott is involved in several extracurricular activities. She serves as the National Beta Club president, is in Health Occupations Students of America, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, served as a junior marshal and was a Morehead-Cain Scholarship nominee.
“CAREER NIGHT” WITH JADA SCOTT
The Lady Raider swim team returned to action Thursday for its second MSC meet of the season and finished tied for fourth place with Jack Britt High School. Both teams scored 187 points.
Scott was a big part of that, recording personal record times in two events, as well as recording a single-meet career-high 19 points.
Taking on new events to help the team, Scott competed in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke races. Her best finish was seventh overall in the open 100, finishing with a PR of 1:31.00 and 12 points.
In her other solo event, the 100-yard breaststroke, Scott impressed despite it being her newest event. She completed the race in 2:06.18 (PR), good enough for 10th overall and another seven points.
Also part of the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay, Scott contributed to two efforts that combined for 62 points. She swam the breaststroke in the 200 medley and swam the third leg of the open 200 relay, helping Richmond finish fifth and third as a team, respectively.
The Lady Raiders’ times in those events were 2:55.39 and 2:27.98, both of which were the fastest times so far this season by the team.
An extended break over the holiday will see the Lady Raiders return to the pool Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.
